After six months of procrastination, I recently found time to overhaul Petra Rocks My World with a new design. I'm really excited about how well it turned out. If you haven't seen it yet, you've got to check it out!

Also, in this newsletter I've got some tidbits of new information about Petra's next album--including the involvement of a certain Newsboy.

Until next time,

Petra's next album comes out in August

Think you can wait five months? Petra's new "loud rock" album is scheduled to come out on Aug. 12, 2003.

Petra is in the studio writing songs for the album with Peter Furler of the Newsboys (and one of inPop Records' founders). Petra's manager Wayne Seboa says "We want to make this the best record we have ever released, combined with an exciting fall tour."

Two different reliable Christian music sites, and, listed the date for Petra's next album in their new release sections. The album is apparently still untitled at this point.

As always, though, remember that release dates are subject to change.

PRMW gets a new look

After coming back from a five-week stay in Bolivia, I decided to move Petra Rocks My World to a new web host. Everything went very smoothly, and about 95% of the pages are now ready.

So, what's new?

The biggest change is a brand new design. I think the new design looks cooler, and since the pages are smaller, it should load in your browser much more quickly. It conforms to the latest web standards (XHTML 1.0 Strict and CSS 2), unlike previous versions of PRMW. I've also rearranged the site navigation, to make it easier to find the things you're looking for.

The Albums section has been enhanced. On the main albums page, I tweaked the links so that it's easy to see which album your mouse is over. I also added a new page explaining why I don't include compilations in the Albums section.

In the past, many people have a hard time finding the lyrics to songs because they couldn't remember what album a song appeared on. So I created a separate Lyrics page that lists alphabetically every song Petra has recorded.

I also moved the fan community (called "Petra Rocks The World") to a better version of the software it was on before. The fan community is a place for Petra fans all over the world to visit with each other and talk about the band, spiritual issues, or everyday stuff. It has a messageboard, chat room, calendar, polls, and more. If you had an account in the messageboard before, it's still there. Your username and password have not changed.

What's coming soon

PRMW will eventually be available in four languages: English, Spanish, Portugese, and German. Other languages will follow. This will be a big step forward for the site. If you have volunteered in the past to help with the translation project, I will soon be sending you an email about what still needs to be done.

With this new web host, I have much more space. So expect to see VIDEOS and more audio files available soon!

You can help

Any time a website makes a big move like this, there are bound to be mistakes. PRMW consists over 80 HTML files as well as hundreds of photos, graphics, and audio files. The fan community (Petra Rocks The World) is also a complicated beast, with scripts and data files that all have to be carefully transferred and configured.

I've done my best to make sure there are no errors. But if you find a mistake or on the website, please let me know. I'll try and correct it as quickly as possible.
